:bulletblack: Personal Information :bulletblack:

Likes: Fish! Most definitely fish! He's also fond of sunbathing, particularly in his fox forme, where his fur magnifies the heat of the sun! He likes heavily wooded areas and will often go for walks in such places whenever he can get away with it, and any rivers or streams in such woods make for an added bonus. He also likes ice cream, for the creamy texture and chilly taste (plain old vanilla is his favorite flavor.) He absolutely loves birds singing, and music in general, especially music from his homeland. He has a soft spot for games, particularly childrens games, and though he'd never admit it, he also enjoys eating birds. Oh, and berries~ Cannot forget the berries!!!!

Dislikes: He doesn't like arrogant or aggressive people, his responses to them ranging anywhere from slight tolerance to completely ignoring them. He's also not very keen on strong winds, though stiff breezes are bearable. Nuts are absolutely disgusting to him, no matter the type (peanuts, acorns, walnuts, etc.) He down-right hates fish bones, though he does realize they are a necessary evil to enjoy his vice of fish. 'Hate' is a strong word, but he extremely dislikes loud music (namely 'metal' and 'rock.') He could also very certainly do without overly touchy-feely people, particularly when they only stick around him to pet his fur.

Fears: Dying, never regaining or replacing his 'star,' being relied on to protect someone/people, being sealed or bound, and ultimately anything that prevents him from being free or anything that ties him down again.

Strengths: As a kitsune, he has inherently greater abilities of hearing, sight, and scent, as well as being very agile/fast. His greatest strength, though, is his foxfire. He can use it offensively, throwing it around with his hands in his human form and from his tails in his fox forme. He can also use it to heal, which he ultimately uses it more frequently for. Using his foxfire, however, comes at the cost of his stamina, with extended or intense use resulting in him actually requiring bedrest. Another 'power' of his is his fox forme. In this form, he stands 7' tall at the shoulder, and is even faster than in his human form, and enables him to 'walk' on air, though he can only maintain that particular trait for about a minute.

Weaknesses: Magical attacks, as that is a large weakness to all kitsune. Magically tampered/purified water is also a weakness, and low-quality sake is poisonous to him, though not lethally. He is also allergic to silver, though that is rather unsurprising. (bah, I can't expand on weaknesses very well OTL)

Goals: To regain his 'star,' a pearl-like item that magnifies his powers and lets him resume is borderline-deific guardianship over his homeland.

Personality:Though he is really a nice and gentle person, he often comes across as cold or distant. He's not fond of getting close to people, and will generally keep things very formal and proper with other people, especially distancing them if they remind him in any way of the village he once protected. He is very much a pacifist, even going so far as to change form and run away from confrontation, unless another is being victimized. His innate nature as a protector all but forbids him from leaving a victim to the hands of their aggressor, though he will still do all he can to avoid a physical confrontation. If one did manage to get to know him, they would find that he is sweet and somewhat of a goof, as well as an avid lover of games.

History: As a kit, he was very playful and energetic, chasing butterflies and playing games with the human children in the villages his father and mother were guardians of. Once he turned thirty, however, he had to retreat from contact with the humans in those villages, since they would judge him and ostracize him for his differences, despite the fact that it was him and his elders/peers that kept them safe and kept their harvests bountiful. A byproduct, or maybe a trade-off for having to give up that human companionship, his father and mother began training him to be a guardian spirit as well. He was so proud of himself when he finally learned his fox forme at age 73, and nothing could've made him happier than when he came into his first tail, twenty-seven years later.

As he grew and continued his training, pursued his studies, so too did his powers grow. With each additional tail, he grew more confident, more comfortable in himself. When it finally came time for his parents to join Inari, he was barely into his fifth tail, and the loss hit him hard. Despite his emotional state, he forced himself to keep his head high and carry on protecting and overseeing the villages his father and mother had. Things changed for him with his parents absent, however. Each new tail was a new symbol of pride, and the agony of his markings forming, shifting, and spreading, acting as a balance to that pride. Once he came into his ninth tail, he'd finally recieved his 'star,' and was officially granted a status as a guardian spirit. With his star and his sense of wisdom and pride, he presided over his territory with fairness and peacefulness.

The years wane on, and eventually, a small coastal village began venturing into the woods that were his domain. Being a peaceful creature, he felt no need to attack them, though he also felt no need to hide his presence from them. That self-same exposure made those villagers believe he was a god of some sort, and they built a shrine to him atop a hill, offering it as a residence to him and a place for them to pay tribute to him for his protection. Though he likely should've discouraged such idolism, he didn't, and time went on as it should for quite some time in this fashion. However, one day, things went terribly wrong....

One day, great ships appeared on the horizon, coming from the West. Aboard those ships were men in bright metal armor, weilding weapons that spouted fire. They came right in to the coastal village that had been so kind to him and had build the shrine to him. They pillaged, killed, stole, destroyed.... It was brutal and terrifying, and it provoked him into such a rage. Leaping down from his hillside, he set upon them with teeth, claw, and magic, ripping and tearing through the invaders. Unfortunately, these invaders had been somehow prepared for him, and a troop of mages that had been among their number set upon him, casting a foreign magic upon him. This magic sapped his power and subdued his mind, and it was like this that they sealed him in his shrine and proceeded to burn it down. However, before they sealed him in his shrine, they took his 'star' from him and claimed it as one of their great treasures. The loss of his 'star' weakened him greatly, and it kept him sealed in the very ashes of the building he'd once called home as the intruders finished their foul deeds and set off to whence they came.

Many, many years later, he manages to extract himself from the land of where he'd been sealed, terrified by how diminished his powers were without his 'star.' Weak, scared, and more alone than he'd ever felt, he receded into his human forme, clothed himself, and set out on a journey. His one main focus was to retrieve his star, and exact repayment for the tormented villagers from the invaders' very skin and bones. The main problem with his ventures, however? He had no idea where to go. The most he had to go on was the mainland to the west, though that was a terrifying thought, as he'd never ventured beyond his territory before. However, if he was to regain his 'star,' and restore both the honor of those villagers and his own, he'd have to overcome that fear and set upon the path that had been set for him. With that tenuous conviction, he boards a boat and sails as best he can to the mainland, with a sense of wonder growing in him alongside his desire for revenge the farther away he gets from home. No doubt there were countless other adventures to be had out here. If only he knew the kind of places such adventures would lead him......

Misc. Information:
+ He is very vain about his fur and tails, though he'd deny any such trait.

+ Despite his love of music and despite countless attempts to the contrary, he cannot play music to save his life.

+ He has random episodes of being very childish, likely a result of his vastly weakened powers.

+ If he trusts you enough/likes you enough to open up and not be so formal around you, he also permits you to pet his tails with him, and compliments on them are always welcome.
